At the farm

Today we went to the zoo again, since it was nice and chilly. Inside the zoo it still felt like a sauna though, so we headed for the farm. We took the long way, which brought us through the African exhibit. We almost paid $5 to have Amelie pet the giraffe, with the rationalization that it would cost a lot more to bring her to Africa to do it. But had we done it, we'd have to wait there for about 20 minutes, so we decided to do it another time. At the zoo, Amelie got kisses from some goats (she does love goats!), watched Justine the cow get milked, and posed as a chicken (see pic below). Chris was in charge of the camera again, but I must say he did a fine job of aiming it at Amelie this time, instead of the animals.

Can you see the excitement on her face? She gets so hyper around animals (that are bigger than her) that she starts making funny noises and tensing up. You'd think she doesn't like them, but she keeps grabbing at them.

This is the one that kissed her. The goats were so excited to be hand-fed hay, even though they had hay in their pen, so they were all over us.

Excited!

Grabbing goat...

Excited, again!

"Can a girl lay her eggs in peace?!"

Peking Duck... er, chicken.
